About Richard
I have practiced my specialties of family and preventive medicine in Cuba for 50 years. I am grateful for the relationships I have had with many generations of many families. I currently practice on a very part-time basis and devote much of my practice to following older patients with long term health problems. I believe that a healthy lifestyle and the support of family and friends contribute as much to health as early detection and treatment of illness. I therefore devote as much time as possible to listening to and counseling patients and their families.
I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and did my residency training at Johns Hopkins University. I maintain certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.
On many days I am not in the Cuba Health Center, I enjoy walking and hiking as well community volunteer work, especially developing and maintaining trails and helping our local food pantry.
