About Lenard
Prior to joining the team at Presbyterian Medical Services, Dr. Wagner was a family practice physician in the NorLea Hospital District based in Lovington. In addition to his position at HFHC, Dr. Wagner serves as Medical Director of Gentiva / VistaCare Hospice in Hobbs.
Asked why he became a physician, Dr. Wagner replied, “During my teenage years, I read an article entitled, ‘Young Man, Young Woman, Become a Doctor!’ It was meant to call young people to be physicians in rural areas. I’ve loved my work as a family practice physician. I decided to join Presbyterian Medical Services since it’s the best opportunity for a physician in this community. Together with my team at Hobbs Family Health Center, I look forward to growing the Presbyterian Medical Services primary care presence in Lea County.”
Dr. Wagner is married to a Master’s trained school nurse in Hobbs. “My wife and I have parented four sons and two new daughters adopted from Guatemala. I’m also actively involved with a family farm in Kansas and a low-power digital television station in Hobbs. In other words, I stay fairly busy!”
