About Matthew "Mateo"

Matthew began his journey in Austin, Texas where he developed an interest in creative arts, psychology, and outdoor recreation. Over the past 15 years Matthew has lived in Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, and Vermont, providing him with ample opportunities through which to weave together his wilderness and therapeutic skills. In 2018 Matthew received his master’s in counseling psychology and certificate in ‘Transformational Ecopsychology’ from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM. In his free time, he can be found gardening, hiking, biking, & making images with his various vintage cameras. Matthew is a relational therapist, emphasizing collaboration in his treatment process, and utilizing methods such as mindfulness/meditation, narrative therapies, archetypal psychology, and ecotherapy.
